Since its inception in Ramadan 2008 c.e., ECIC has met many of the challenge that confront such organizations. To list a few-

1. A constitution has been formalized and an Executive Committee has been appointed. Several committees have been constituted and have taken charge of their charters.

2. A formal recognition of the ECIC as a tax-exempt organization [under section 501(c)3] has been granted by the Internal Revenue Service.

3. Mechanisms are in place for collection and disbursement of zakaat and sadaqat.

4. A saturday Islamic education school is up and running and will morph into a Sunday School program next academic year. Youth programs, women’s halaqa and men’s halaqa are a regular feature.

5.Very soon renovations will address need for more prayer areas, privacy for female worshippers and increased need for wudu areas.

6. We have made an intention to recruit a scholar to fulfill the mandate of providing singular educational opportunity for our Musalleeh.

But our job is far from done. We, as a community have miles to go. And each step of the way we, individuals and families must recognize the pivotal role our masajid play in bringing deen to our children, and how they project a positive image of Islam and Muslims within the communities we live in.

All of this costs money. Alhadulillah, the needs of this community have brought this masjid about.  ECIC responds to your suggestions by developing these programs at the masjid. We ask you to consider supporting these projects through monetary donations. No donation is too small. The rewards of such donations, we are taught, multiply over time, increasing as more people benefit from each of our actions.
